Jane Fletcher - Contemporary Artist

"Certain colors and light spark my soul and inspire me to paint"

Jane Fletcher

Jane’s fine arts education began at 15 at The Art Students League in New York City.  She continued her studies at Edna Lewis's  Art Workshop in Positano, Italy.  It was there, her fascination with color and light began and at 16 she decided, one day she would live there to paint.

After earning her BFA from Syracuse University, Jane received a grant from The Ford Foundation to study at Otis-Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles, where she earned her MFA.   While there, she was awarded financial support from LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art).

Being in Los Angeles opened an unexpected path for Jane.  She became a Production Designer for television.  Her successful career in Hollywood over the next twenty five years, earned her Emmy Award nominations and enabled her to transition from television back to fine arts and to achieve her dream of painting  in southern Italy.

Today she finds her inspiration in the beauty of Capri, Italy as well as the energy of New York City where she also resides.
